About Me

I was introduced to leatherwork as a kid, and even earned my merit badge for it in the Boy Scouts. I didn’t really do anything with it until 2006. At that time, I wore out a belt. I was shocked at the low quality of leather and high prices of most belts that were available. I remembered how much fun leatherworking was, and didn’t guess a strap of leather would be as expensive as the belts I was seeing. The problem I ran into is that you need a few tools to do most leatherworking. So that “cheap” belt ended up costing over two hundred dollars once I had everything I needed to make it. I continued to collect tools, and kept working on more leather projects. In 2008 I got a new motorcycle. I wanted to make it stand out a little bit from the crowd, but didn’t want a flashy paint job. I was off again to the supply store, and recovered the seat in western pattern. About this time I joined Leatherworker.net, an online leatherworking community, and the Santa Fe Trail Leather Artist Guild. By continuing to practice my leather working skills, I been able to make better and better looking items. Along the way, I have made quite a few things for other people. This year I am working on taking this from a hobby to a part time business.

    Adam,
just recieved my trucker’s wallet and am absolutely astounded! It is everything you promised and so much more! I never dared hope to find one that wasn’t soft “supple” leather but one that was as rugged as the conditions it would be subjected to! you truly are a craftsman! Oh and thanks for including the cards because I’m going to give them out to the horse group I ride with! I will be in touch soon for the next project I hace in mind, thanks again, Adam, you have a customer for life here,

I enjoyed making the wallet, and am glad you like it, Mike. I will have pictures up on the site of it soon.
